Turkey meatballs in spicy tomato sauce under the cheese
Ingredients
for meatballs:
Turkey mince — 500 g
Chicken eggs — 1 PC.
Breadcrumbs — 2 tbsp
Dried oregano — 1 tsp
Fresh Basil, finely diced — 2 tbsp
Cumin — 1 tsp
Dijon mustard — 1 tsp
Garlic salt — 1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper — 1/4 tsp
Cayenne red pepper — 1/4 tsp
The red pepper flakes — 1/2 tsp
for the sauce:
Tomato sauce or any pasta sauce (marinara works well) — 450 g
Basil, chop — 4-5 large leaves
Oregano — 1 tsp
The red pepper flakes — 1/2 tsp
Sliced mushrooms (optional) — 250 g
Cheese burrata or mozzarella, cut into large pieces — 120-170 g
Preparation:
1. Heat the oven to 200 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients for meatballs. Shape into small balls (16-22 PCs). Place on baking sheet, greased, and bake for 15 minutes.
3. At this time, prepare the sauce. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and pour the tomato sauce. Add the remaining ingredients for the sauce, including mushrooms, oregano and any other seasonings to taste. The sauce should thicken.
4. When the meatballs is baked, put them on the pan into the sauce. Pour each meatball sauce on top put the Basil leaves. Lay the cheese randomly on the sauce and meatballs.
5. Continue cooking over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until the cheese melts.
Serve meatballs with vegetables, pasta or as a separate dish.
