Crispy salt and pepper French toast
3 tablespoons of the mixture of cream milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground pepper
1.5 tablespoons green onions, finely chop (optional)
1.5 tablespoon cilantro, finely chop (optional)
vegetable oil and butter
8 slices of bread or a loaf of day-fresh, cut diagonally
ketchup as the sauce
In a bowl or baking dish, whisk the eggs with a mixture of milk and cream, pepper, salt, onion and cilantro.
Heat a large frying pan or medium to medium-high heat. At the bottom pour a generous helping of vegetable oil and a tablespoon of dough (for taste). Each triangle of bread, dip in the egg mixture and place on a hot skillet. Fry each side for 2-3 minutes until crispy (!) Golden brown. Put the browned toast on a paper towel and blot to remove excess fat.
Serve with ketchup or any other sauce.
